Kenya luxury safaris

Few places capture the spirit of safari quite like Kenya. It’s a country of colour and rhythm, where every day brings a new scene; lions prowling across golden plains, locals herding cattle beneath wide skies as you pass each village.

The Masai Mara remains Kenya’s crown jewel, famous for the Great Migration when thousands of wildebeest and zebra thunder across the Mara River. But there’s much more to discover: the shadow of Mount Kilimanjaro in Amboseli National Park, the pink shimmer of flamingos on Lake Nakuru, and the green highlands that inspired Karen Blixen’s Out of Africa.

Stay in intimate camps and lodges that balance wild adventure with quiet comfort. Begin your mornings with coffee by the fire as the plains wake around you, and end your days with stories shared under starlight.

Pair your luxury Kenya safari with a few days beside the Indian Ocean, where the turquoise waters of Diani Beach and Lamu offer a gentle finish to the journey. Whether it’s your first safari or your fifth, Kenya’s energy and warmth make every visit unforgettable.

Kenya practical tips

Access & Travel

  • Safaris typically launch from Nairobi, with private charter flights or luxury transfers to remote lodges embedded in conservancies and national parks.

Accommodation & Guiding

  • Diamond Skies Travel provides full guidance on every Kenya safari, with expert naturalists and professional hosts throughout. Choice lodges where design meets comfort — rooms, suites or tented pavilions with elegant interiors, immersive locations and fine dining experiences. Expect early-morning game drives, walking safaris (where offered), cultural visits, photography sessions and sundowner experiences curated to your pace.

Sustainability

  • Many of our partner lodges and conservancies work in tandem with local communities and conservation projects — your safari is aligned with place, people and purpose.

Combining Destinations

  • Tanzania is a natural pairing due to the shared Serengeti–Maasai Mara ecosystem and the easy extension to Zanzibar for beaches. Uganda is another popular option, offering gorilla and chimpanzee trekking that perfectly complements a Kenyan safari.

what you could see in Kenya

• Lions, leopards, cheetahs and elephants
• The Great Migration (July–October)
• Flamingos at Lake Nakuru
• Views of Mount Kilimanjaro
• White-sand beaches and turquoise seas along the Indian Ocean coast

best time to visit Kenya

  • July to October: Prime time for the Great Migration and classic game viewing, but also the busiest and most expensive time.

  • January to March: Warm and dry, great for photography and quieter safaris.

  • April to June: The long rains mark Kenya’s green season, when the landscape bursts into colour and newborn animals fill the plains. Fewer visitors and lower rates make this a rewarding time to travel.
