Malawi luxury safaris
Malawi is a country of contrasts, from the vast wilderness of its national parks to the tranquil, glass-clear expanse of Lake Malawi. It’s an ideal destination for safari travellers seeking something a little different: wild, beautiful, but unhurried.
The two premier safari destinations, Majete Wildlife Reserve and Liwonde National Park, are now home to thriving populations of the Big Five, lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant and black rhino, following years of dedicated conservation work. Both offer a genuine safari experience, yet remain wonderfully uncrowded; you can often enjoy a sighting with no other vehicles in view. Whilst Malawi is not a first time safari experience, it is a safari experience for those who understand they may see fewer animals, but when they do, they will also share those sightings with far fewer people. Malawi is a quality over quantity safari destination.
Complement your safari with time beside Lake Malawi, a World Heritage Site, and home to hundreds of species of cichlid fish found nowhere else on earth. The lake’s golden beaches and crystal waters provide a natural pause. It is the perfect place to unwind before or after time in the bush. From kayaking and snorkelling to simply watching the sunset with your feet in the sand, life here slows to its gentlest rhythm.

best time to visit Malawi
May to October (the dry season) is the best time for wildlife viewing, when animals gather around the rivers and the bush is at its thinnest. Days are sunny (October can get extremely hot) and warm, with cool evenings ideal for campfires.
The green season (November to April) brings lush scenery and excellent birding, as migratory species arrive in abundance. Although some lodges close during the rains, this is a beautiful time for photographers and those seeking solitude and vibrant landscapes.
For lake stays, April to November offers the best combination of pleasant temperatures and clear water visibility.
